Start with the part, not the machine

A 3D curved display module sets the requirements before any supplier questionnaire is opened. Record the cover glass or cover plate geometry, the film or functional layer being attached, whether the partner substrate is rigid glass or a flexible circuit, and the largest outline the cell reaches. On the 3D surface vacuum bonding machine listing from Shenzhen PowerDe Automation Precision Equipment, for example, the press area is documented for products up to 300 by 150 mm, inside a vacuum chamber of 550 by 500 by 300 mm. A module that exceeds that envelope is not a tuning problem; it points to a different machine class.

Write the part definition down as a one-page sheet and have engineering, production and purchasing sign the same version. Half of the disputes in this equipment category start from an undefined part, not from a defective bond.

Fix the alignment tolerance you actually need

Alignment and conformity accuracy belong in writing, with the measurement method named next to each number. The same product listing states a conformity accuracy of 0.1 mm either side and an X, Y and theta automatic angle adjustment on the workbench. If your process allows 0.2 mm, do not buy to 0.1 mm "to be safe"; you pay for a control loop you will not use, and you inherit a calibration burden at every shift change.

State how the tolerance is verified as well: which marker set, which vision channel, which sample size, and whether the reading is taken in-line or on an offline gauge. Two teams that both quote 0.1 mm either side often disagree completely once the gauge is named.

Turn rate, pass rate and changeover into one number

Capacity claims are only useful when their conditions travel with them. The listing for this semiconductor process equipment gives a capacity of about 25 s per piece with a daily output of about 3,000 pieces calculated at 20 h per day, and separately records an operation time of 98% or more with a 20-second single cycle measured on a 5.5-inch soft-to-hard reference. The two figures come from different references, so use each with its own footnote instead of averaging them into a plant target.

Add your own changeover cost. The same parameter table shows a new-product calibration time of about 30 minutes and a product-change calibration of about 20 minutes. For a high-mix line, multiply that by the number of changeovers a week and put the result beside the cycle time. That combined figure is what the line plan should be built on.

Specify the process window, not just the pressure

Fit pressure on this machine is listed as 0.05 to 0.5 MPa with a mechanical pressure display in MPa. Define your own window inside that range: target value, acceptable band, ramp behaviour, dwell, and how an out-of-band reading is logged. The vacuum side deserves the same treatment: the listing describes a vacuum generator with a vacuum pump, a thin-film vacuum module for positioning and clamping, and a cylinder or electromagnet clamping device, so ask which element holds the part at each stage of the cycle and what the machine does when the vacuum level falls.

Where the data is not published on the product page, leave the item blank in the specification sheet and send it to the supplier as an open question rather than filling it with an assumption.

Make the defect list part of the acceptance sheet

Bubbles, particles, misalignment and edge lift each need a written boundary and an owner before delivery. Agree the inspection light, the viewing distance and the sample size, then attach the approved images of a pass and a reject to the contract. A pass rate stated as 98% or more in a datasheet means little until the buyer and seller agree what counts as one rejected unit.

Pair the defect list with a maintenance and spare-parts annex: consumables on the vacuum module, sealing elements, lamps and camera parts, with lead times named. Equipment failure rate on the listing is stated at 2% or below; whether you can hold that figure depends as much on spare availability as on the machine itself.

Run a written trial on your own samples

Before the purchase order, send real part numbers and run them on a reference machine, using your film, your substrate lot and your operator. Record first-pass yield, the alignment readings, the cycle time you measured, and the time the changeover actually took. Keep that trial report as the reference document for the acceptance test at your plant, so the two data sets can be compared line by line.

Bring the trial report to the equipment supplier early. PowerDe lists integrated engineering team services alongside its equipment, which lets a buyer hand over the part definition and trial data instead of a bare machine request.

Send the specification, not a model number

When the part sheet, tolerance table and trial report are ready, send them to sales@powerde.net, or call +86 13023198376, and the engineering team will confirm which configuration and which chamber envelope your module fits.
