A delivery that arrives on a pallet is not the end of a purchase. For a mobile cleaning machine, the acceptance check is where a buyer either confirms that the specification they signed for is the machine they can put to work, or discovers it three weeks later when the unit is on the shop floor and the supplier's warranty clock has already started. The PowerDe PWD02 without battery is a specific case: it is a driving-style machine sold in two variants, and the variant you receive has to be checked on its own terms. Below is a checklist a purchasing or facilities officer can run at handover, written as a form.
Before the machine is unloaded: paperwork
Confirm the model designation on the packing list against the order. The product is listed as "Driving Style Steam Cleaner PowerDe PWD02 (without battery)" and the parameter block on its page reads "PWD02 (Battery not included)". Those are the same variant stated in two wordings; what matters is that the delivered unit matches the variant you ordered, and that if you expected a battery-equipped machine you have not just received the bare unit. Also check the purchase order reference, the quantity, and that the supplier's serial number is recorded on the delivery note. Photograph any transit damage on the crate before signing.
Physical and mechanical checks
Work around the machine with a tape measure and the specification sheet beside you. The PWD02's stated dimensions are L1275 × W570 × H1185 mm; verify the unit fits the aisles, doorways and lift it will have to travel through, because a mobile machine that cannot reach the wash point is not a mobile machine. Check the casing, the handles and the wheels for transit damage, and confirm the water tank is empty and undamaged on the inside. The tank volume on the specification is 60 L for clean water.
Then inventory the accessories against the packing list: the high-pressure water gun and its nozzle set, hoses and their fittings, the vacuum attachment with flat nozzle, and the water inlet fitting. The specified inlet is tap water through a 4-point internal-tooth joint; confirm you have the matching hose fitting on site, or that the supplier has included it. This is the single most common handover failure on this class of equipment — the machine arrives, the water connection does not.
Power and the battery question
This is the check specific to the "without battery" variant. The PWD02 specification lists the working voltage as 220 V with a 455V mobile battery noted as replaceable, which is what makes it a self-powered, driving-style unit. A battery-less delivery therefore needs two confirmations. First, how the machine will be powered in your operation: either a site supply arranged at the point of use, or a battery sourced separately under a separate line on the order. Second, that the battery compartment, cabling and connectors on the delivered unit are intact and undamaged, with no loose conductors, so a battery added later is a simple swap rather than a workshop job.
Write the decision down on the acceptance form and have both parties sign it. A handover where the buyer assumed a battery was included and the supplier assumed it was not is the most expensive single misunderstanding available on this model.
Functional checks with the machine running
Run the machine before you sign, with water in the tank and the intended supply connected.
- Heating. The specification lists 4.5 kW heating power with a PTC semiconductor heater. Confirm the unit reaches its working state in a normal time and holds it, and record what that time is. You will use that figure when scheduling cleans.
- All three modes. The PWD02 is specified with hot water, dry steam and wet steam. Test each one and check the changeover responds at the control rather than only at the nozzle.
- Movement. The mode of movement is listed as autonomous driving, and the overview describes a unit that can be driven and stopped at any time. Drive it under load over the actual floor surface you will use, including any ramp, threshold or drainage grid.
- Spray and pressure behaviour. Check the gun triggers cleanly, the pattern is even, and there is no leak at any coupling under pressure.
- Vacuum function. The specification lists a vacuum cleaner with a flat nozzle and a sewage tank. Test suction and confirm the sewage tank seals and empties without leaking.
- Protections. The unit lists leakage protection, short-circuit protection, high-temperature protection, high-voltage protection, water-shortage protection and high-voltage explosion protection. You are not asked to test each one; you are asked to confirm the machine behaves safely when the tank runs dry, and to have the protection list in the operator handbook you receive.
Documentation you should receive and keep
Ask for, and check you have: the operator manual in the language your crew reads, a wiring and connection diagram, the spare-parts list with part numbers, the warranty terms with the start date, the recommended service interval, and the descaling recommendation for your water hardness. Note that the manufacturer's own site carries some inconsistent model wording across its cleaning range — on one page the fixed HMW3 and HW03 naming differs between the title and the description. If the paperwork you receive disagrees with the machine, resolve it in writing at handover, not later.
Sign-off, defects and the snag list
Close the check with a dated acceptance form naming the inspector, the machine serial number, the items tested and the result of each. Any shortfall goes on a snag list with an owner and a date, and the acceptance is signed as conditional rather than skipped — a conditional sign-off preserves your position, while refusing delivery usually just delays the paperwork nobody reads. Keep the form with the purchase file. It is the document that settles a warranty argument six months later, and the record you will use when the next unit is ordered.
If you are evaluating the machine for a wider rollout, the PowerDe PWD02 steam cleaner product page carries the full specification, and the wider Cleaning Equipment Series lists the mobile and fixed variants. Where your duty cycle or power arrangement is unusual, PowerDe supports customized steam cleaning equipment and you can raise the configuration through the contact page before the order rather than after the crate arrives.
